Week 3 ~ Viennese Waltz~

On Dancing With the Stars Season 16, Week 3 performances tonight (April 1), Zendaya Colemanand Val Chmerkovskiy impressed everyone yet again with their Prom Night Viennese Waltz. Not only was this Zendaya’s first prom experience, but it was a heartfelt dance — she dedicated the performance to her grandma, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, dancing to “Que Sera, Sera” while wearing a replica of her grandma’s dress. She started off in a gondolas, but the duo immediately started spinning around in tandem, moving to the sweeping melody of the song before ending in an intricate floor spin. “You had this incredible lyrical quality to your movements and you’re so good, but I still feel like the best is yet to come,” Carrie Ann said. “Your dancing is natural ... you move effortlessly,” Len added, and surprise, surprise — they scored 24/30.

Week 2 ~Jive~ AND MORE

Coleman, 16, who uses just her first name professionally, earned 26 out of a possible 30 points for her jive, ending up in a tie with country singer Kellie Pickler. Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill brought up the rear, with 15 points. The scores from last week were added to those from Monday's performances, making Zendaya the overall high scorer, and Hughley the overall low scorer. Zendaya and Val passed the first elimination round also earning the encore dance! Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy are already Dancing With the Stars 2013 favorites, and the Season 16 pair is about to win over even more fans with their heartwarming Prom Night performance.

When On the Red Carpet caught up with Val after the results show, he revealed that they are dedicating their Week 3 dance to Zendaya’s grandma, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The even sweeter detail? The Disney starlet’s mom asked them if they would dedicate to her, as Zendaya’s grandma is a big fan of the show and would love it.

"We're building everything around her experience when she was that that age,” Val told OTRC. “We're taking it back to that time and we're creating a dress that is a copy of the dress that she wore to prom."

Aww, that’s so sweet! Zendaya is only 16 and she hasn’t had that prom experience yet, and surprisingly, Val said it’s not a priority or a dream for her. Hey, maybe their awesome performance will change that, though he wouldn’t divulge what style of dance they’ll be doing in Week 3. I can’t wait to be surprised!

Week 1 ~Contemporary~

Sixteen-year-old Disney Channel star Zendaya stole the show on tonight’s premiere of season 16 of “Dancing with the Stars” with a gorgeous contemporary dance routine that earned the night’s loudest standing-o.And rightfully so.

The bubbly teen (the youngest contestant ever in the history of the show), who’s more at home with hip-hop and pop, proved she could dance as elegantly and passionately as many a seasoned dance pro. Her partner Val Chmerkovskiy doled out winning choreography for the pair, making her score of 24 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, the evening’s chart-topper.
